88.        Riesling Alsace Grand Cru Altenberg de Bergheim 2001

Ripe and inviting with an orange peel cast to the peach and apple notes.   A touch of heat on the finish pulls it out of balance, yet it's long with a grapefruit aftertaste.   Drink now through 2010. 100 cases imported.   - B.S.

Lean and austere.   Features lemon, mineral and pine notes, backed by a vibrant structure. Needs time to let more generosity shine through. Best from 2007 through 2015   500cases imported . --B.S.
