Madrose Ranch Honey
Shekomeko, NY -- Date: August 19, 2007:
Neal just drew the first of the Summer 2007 Organically Grown Buckwheat Honey.

Neal Rosenthal has always admired the work of Mario Bianco and his sons in assisting their bees.     So, even though he has way too much to do, why not add one more thing?    After all, the bees do most of the work.    Not so, but this is where the fun comes in: the joy in observing the activity at the hives, plowing and seeding the fields with the organic winter rye and the organic buckwheat for the summer and then harvesting the extra honey for our own use.

The product of these hives is so wonderful and much more than we can eat in a year, that we are willing to part with a portion of it for your enjoyment.

Honey from Organically grown Buckwheat, Mad Rose Ranch, Shekomeko, NY, Summer 2007 [500ml] ..............................$15.00
VERY DARK in color with an elegant yet intense flavor reminiscent of black walnuts. It is sweet and somewhat bitter at the same time. Woodsy aroma, with hints of the vanilla orchid and apple in the flavor and scent.
