Ploussard 2014 from Crinquand: a minor note of reduction on opening that quickly dissipates and leaves one with a wine of exceptional elegance, fine tannins and a pure red berry nose and flavors; charming, exceedingly flexible at the table; one of his best efforts.
Chateau La Peyre, St Estephe 2010: run to this wine before it disappears; classic cedar and briar to nose and flavors, compact, concentrated, perfect balance; deep robe, serious wine that truly reminds me of the old days of compelling Bordeaux; in my book, this is a steal … distinguished, satisfying, a testament of what is good and possible in Bordeaux.
