2018 Jean-Marie Fourrier Chambertin Grand Cru
The 2018 Chambertin Grand Cru has a finely detailed bouquet of blackberry, briar, crushed stone and a touch of iris petal; good focus and detail here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, taut and precise. The vibrant, shimmering finish is seductive. Excellent.

2018 Jean-Marie Fourrier Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru
The 2018 Latricières-Chambertin Grand Cru has an outstanding bouquet of crushed iris and incense aromas filtering through mineral-rich black fruit. Such vibrancy! The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very good acidity and a wonderfully focused finish that is top-drawer. Superb.

2018 Jean-Marie Fourrier Echézeaux Grand Cru
The 2018 Echézeaux Grand Cru has a decadent bouquet of red cherry and cranberry aromas, touches of pain d’épices and a hint of menthol emerging with time. But somehow it manages to retain control. The palate is medium-bodied with ripe, slightly chalky tannins, good depth and a gentle grip toward the focused finish. This should age extremely well.

2018 Jean-Marie Fourrier Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses 1er Cru has a finely tuned bouquet of pure blueberry, wild strawberry and violet aromas that translate the vineyard with style. The medium-bodied palate offers fleshy ripe red fruit laced with marmalade and blood orange, gentle grip toward the finish and a dash of spice on the aftertaste. Excellent.

2018 Jean-Marie Fourrier Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru
The 2018 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a clean, precise bouquet of blueberry and violet aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, crisp acidity and a fresh, blood-orange-tinged finish. Very fine.
2022 – 2034
2018 Jean-Marie Fourrier Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru
The 2018 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru offers fragrant iris and incense aromas on the nose of nicely detailed, precocious black cherries and blueberry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with sweet tannins and good depth, although I find the finish a little static at the moment and missing the tension of some of the premier crus.
2023 – 2038
2018 Jean-Marie Fourrier Chambolle-Musigny Aux Echanges
The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Aux Echanges includes 50% whole cluster for the first time. I like the precision and focus on the nose, although it feels a little backward at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent tannins, fresh and silky-smooth, with a nicely detailed finish. This is an impressive village cru that should age well.
2022 – 2036
2018 Jean-Marie Fourrier Vosne-Romanée Aux Réas
The 2018 Vosne-Romanée Aux Réas has a detailed, finely proportioned bouquet of red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit. The palate is fresh and almost citric on the entry, with a fine bead of acidity and an attractive peppery finish. Drink over the next 6–8 years.
