La Manarine 2016 Rosé

Posted on Posted in Domaine La Manarine, Rosé Report Archive

This afternoon we enjoyed the delicious 2016 Cotes du Rhone Rosé with the always friendly Gilles Gasq.  He describes the 2016 vintage as powerful with great balance and finesse.  Compared to the equally strong 2015 vintage, the 16’s for him have a greater balancing acidity which delivers a dynamic freshness.

The 2016 Rose is 50% Grenache, 40% Mourvedre, and 10% Syrah.  The juice is 100% direct-press and–like all his wines at Manarine–100% organic. Thr color is a silvery pink, with strawberry and vibrant grapefruit flavors.  Juicy but firm, it finishes with lively fresh acidity.
